Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and mechanically inclined Shop Coordinator to support the daily operations of our shop and field projects. This position involves coordinating shop activities, managing maintenance schedules, maintaining compliance with safety regulations, and ensuring the timely procurement of parts, materials, and equipment. The ideal candidate does not need to be a mechanic but should have a strong mechanical aptitude and the ambition to learn equipment maintenance and repair with a willingness to work in an adaptive hands on environment. A technological background and proficiency in organizing logs, records, and ordering systems are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment & Maintenance Management:
• Oversee and coordinate maintenance schedules for shop equipment, including blasting equipment, compressors, and dust collectors.
• Maintain records of services, inspections, and maintenance logs to ensure timely upkeep.
• Organize and track yearly safety checks and compliance inspections.
• Work closely with Shop Foreman to support equipment servicing and minor repairs as needed.
Shop Coordination & Safety Compliance:
• Conduct and log regular shop/equipment inspections and safety checks.
• Lead shop huddles and safety talks to promote a safe work environment.
• Ensure shop cleanliness and organization to maintain an efficient workspace.
• Monitor and enforce safety regulations and best practices.
Procurement & Inventory Management:
• Order materials, parts, and equipment based on shop needs and inventory levels.
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate purchasing to minimize downtime.
• Keep accurate logs of purchases, inventory, and procurement activities.
Administrative & Technological Responsibilities:
• Maintain and update maintenance logs and service records in digital systems.
• Utilize Excel and other software for tracking, reporting, and ordering.
• Implement and maintain an efficient record-keeping system for all shop-related documentation.
$28 to $35 per hour plus Benefits

44 + occasional overtime

Required skills:
Qualifications & Skills:
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn equipment maintenance and repair.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in equipment maintenance coordination or shop operations preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to conduct safety meetings and coordinate shop activities.
Preferred Skills:
• Previous experience in a similar role within an industrial or mechanical shop.
• Familiarity with construction equipment.
• Background in procurement, logistics, or inventory management.
Working Conditions:
• This role requires working in a shop environment with exposure to machinery and equipment.
• Occasional lifting and hands-on involvement in equipment maintenance will be required.
• Regular interaction with Supervisors and management.
